kingsley_amisKingsley Amis, under the pen name Robert Markham, was the first author to take on Bond after Ian Fleming’s death in 1964. Colonel Sun became the first in a long line of continuation books, penned by authors keen to continue Ian Fleming’s cultural legacy.

Sir Kingsley Amis was a prolific and celebrated author, with perhaps his most famous novel being his debut, Lucky Jim. He was born on April 16, 1922 and died on October 22 1995. His son, Martin Amis, is also a well-known and popular novelist.
