Ian Fleming’s magical story about the flying car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was first published in 1964. In recent years, this much-loved character has been given a new lease of life by Frank Cottrell Boyce who has produced two more books in the collection, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again, published in 2011 and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Race Against Time, published in 2012.
As well as being a celebrated author, Frank Cottrell Boyce also wrote the acclaimed Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Frank’s first book Millions was adapted into a film and along with his second book Framed, and third book Cosmic they have collectively won or been shortlisted for every major UK award. Following suit, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Flies Again has recently been nominated for two awards, the Fantastic Book Awards 2012 and the Roald Dahl Funny Prize 2012.
