Chitty Chitty Bang Bang originated as a story Ian Fleming told his son, Caspar, at bedtime. It is a fantastical tale about a brilliant car that flies and floats, and the adventures of the wonderful Potts family. The story is familiar to many through the original book, illustrated by John Burningham, the 1968 classic film starring Dick Van Dyke, and the new stage show, which opened in London in 2002.
