Presenting Our New Logo

Ian Fleming Publications Ltd and the Ian Fleming Estate are delighted to unveil our new official logo:

‘The most beautiful bird in Jamaica, and some say the most beautiful bird in the world, is the streamer-tail or doctor humming-bird’ – For Your Eyes Only

Designed by Webb & Webb, the logo depicts the ‘Doctor Bird’, the national bird of Jamaica. Ian Fleming fell in love with the Caribbean island during the Second World War, whilst attending a conference there, and after the war he returned to build himself a house – Goldeneye. It was at Goldeneye that he would later spend two months every year from 1952 writing his James Bond novels. A keen birdwatcher, Fleming took the name for his Double O Agent from that of an American ornithologist, author of the definitive field guide Birds of the West Indies.

It seems fitting therefore that the elegance of ‘the most beautiful bird in Jamaica’ in flight, accompanied by Fleming’s stylish signature, should represent the Ian Fleming brand.
