Casino Royale Limited Edition Paperback
‘So that was the score, thought Bond, with a final sinking of the heart. The ‘unknown destination’ would be under the ground or under the sea, or perhaps, more simply, under the crashed Bentley. Well, if he had to die anyway, he might as well try it the hard way.’
Casino Royale, 1953
Today marks the publication of the new UK paperback of Casino Royale, with an introduction by Anthony Horowitz. The edition has been brought out to celebrate the upcoming publication of Horowitz’s new Bond novel Forever and a Day, which is a prequel to Casino Royale and hits shops later this month.
Casino Royale was the first Bond novel in 1953 and was a great success, selling-out in less than a month. It was dubbed a ‘thriller for an intelligent audience’ by New Statesman and earned Fleming the praise ‘the best new English thriller writer since Ambler’ from The Sunday Times.
It remains one of the greatest thrillers and we can’t think of a better way than to discover this classic than by picking up this delightful new edition.
