Death of literary agent Gillon Aitken, 1938 – 2016

All at Ian Fleming Publications were very sad to learn of the death of literary agent, Gillon Aitken. He was a good friend to IFP and introduced Samantha Weinberg, author of the engaging The Moneypenny Diaries, to the world of James Bond as well as Sebastian Faulks whose Devil May Care was an exciting and beautifully written Bond adventure, the publication of which was the crowning event in Fleming’s centenary year. Imposing in stature, wise in counsel, shrewd in negotiation, Gillon Aitken towered among the literary agents of his day; as a friend he was modest and companionable.
