They say much of a story is in the telling. The right narrator draws you in, finding unexpected notes of suspense, danger and romance that make even the most familiar story feel brand new.
Ian Fleming wrote some of the most quotable lines in literature, so it is no small feat finding the perfect voice to bring to life ‘The scent and smoke and sweat of a casino are nauseating at three in the morning.’ It was with this responsibility in mind that we at Ian Fleming Publications decided in partnership with HarperCollins US to embark upon a major new set of recordings of all of Fleming’s legendary 007 stories, plus his two works of era-defining non-fiction. Featuring stellar performances from incredible talent, we hope these audio adaptations will bring Bond to even more readers – and listeners.
The audiobooks will be released across all major platforms over the coming months by HarperCollins in the United States, and will be released in the UK by Ian Fleming Publications in early 2025.
In celebration of its 60th anniversary, the first new recording to be released in the US will be You Only Live Twice, available on March 19th. Voiced by Eleanor Matsuura (best known for her roles in The Walking Dead & Spooks), travel to Japan, meet Kissy Suzuki and discover the terrifying Garden of Death.
This will be followed on March 26th by both Casino Royale and Live and Let Die, so listeners can journey back to where the Bond saga began. Casino Royale will be voiced by Richard Armitage (The Hobbit, The Stranger), with Live and Let Die read by Adjoa Andoh (Bridgerton, The Witcher). These artists have all given phenomenal performances, and we’re very excited to share these all-new recordings with you.
