A Statement on the Digital Serialisation of The Hook and the Eye
This week we released Episode 2 of the digital eBook serialisation of Raymond Benson’s new Felix Leiter novel, The Hook and the Eye. Unfortunately things didn’t go entirely according to plan with this release, and we’re aware that a number of customers have struggled to access the updated file. We’re very sorry for the delay and frustration caused.
Given the difficulties with this release, we’ve decided that rather than continue with the serialisation model for this title, we’ll instead release the full eBook text on June 24th, when the next Episode would have dropped.
As a small publisher, we have the flexibility to try new ways of doing things, and we felt that a serialised release would work incredibly well with the content and style of The Hook and the Eye. Unfortunately, whilst publication via our own website has worked as planned, third party eBook retailers aren’t really designed for this kind of publication model, and we don’t want to detract from Raymond’s great writing with unnecessary frustration.
We hope that you’ll enjoy reading the full text of The Hook and the Eye rather earlier than planned, and we’ll be continuing to release behind-the-scenes and bonus content around this title over the summer. A paperback edition of the full novel is still coming in October (and can be pre-ordered here).
We want to thank the fans for their patience and enthusiasm for this book. We also want to thank our wonderful author, Raymond Benson, who simply wants as many people as possible to read his newest masterpiece. Please direct your issues to us rather than Raymond.

(Please note: in light of the difficulties with eBook file updates feeding out across retailers, we’ll be doing our absolute best to ensure that the full file is feeding out on the 24th, but there may be delays with some retailers.)
